Ancient Greek poet Homer has already made his mark in boating circles with the voyages of Odysseus in ‘The Odyssey’, so it is perhaps fitting that his other epic, ‘The Iliad’, should now carry his flag forward.

“The new ILIAD 53S features a sporty sedan silhouette, making it ideal for unrestricted cruising in the world’s waterways. “With a comprehensively optioned model priced from US$1.795m ex-factory, the ILIAD 53S is enjoying strong demand from buyers seeking a semi-custom motor yacht that offers outstanding space, economy and performance”.

The vessel displayed at the 2023 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and shown here was priced at US$1.9m and is powered by 440 HP engines delivering a top speed of 21 knots, while cruising long range at lower speeds will enable 3,000+ nautical mile passages. Engine options from 400-550 HP are also available, and in some models an ultra-impressive range of 3,500 nm is possible with a fuel burn of 1 litre per nautical mile. That’s Pacific island-hopping and trans-Atlantic capability.

The ILIAD 53S has outstanding interior living space, including a huge forward lounge and helm station and dining for up to 8 people. This entire area is bathed in natural light courtesy of a large skylight included as standard.

Accommodation on board is generous and beautifully designed, with the master cabin encompassing a whole hull and featuring an oversized island queen bed, panoramic windows, expansive ensuites, and more storage and space than any other boat in its class. The two guest cabins also enjoy an abundance of natural light courtesy of generous windows, and each is equipped with their own designer ensuites.

Featuring the finest European appliances, the galley is sleek and practical with its island Caesarstone benchtops, full-size refrigerator and freezer, and well-designed storage areas.

“The motor yacht boasts exceptional outdoor space for entertaining and relaxing”, says the yard. “The cockpit has a bar area and dining setting for up to ten guests, barbeque, ice maker and refrigerator, with all waste bins concealed in cleverly designed cabinetry. “The optional tender platform is ideal for sea access when swimming or diving, and makes a superb sunbathing spot when the tender is deployed.

“The forward-facing bow deck lounge has plentiful lounge seating for enjoying a drink at sunset and has convenient direct access to the main deck lounge. Bulwark side walkways with handrails make movement around the decks while under way exceptionally safe”. The standard model is comprehensively optioned with air conditioning, generator, full electronics, water maker, washer-dryer, lithium batteries, solar panels and entertainment systems.

CEO Mark Elkington talks proudly of the brand’s DNA which, for example, includes protective grounding skegs making ILIADs beachable in an emergency or for out-of-water servicing.

The 53S has a full vinylester hull, PVC core throughout and premium safety features.

ILIAD Catamarans are built to CE Category A standards, but all models can be built to any international survey and classification, and include an internationally-supported structural warranty for commercial operation and optimal peace of mind, “at a price that boldly challenges the cost of other production power cat models”.

The ILIAD 62, released in 2022, was nominated for the prestigious Multihull of the Year award.

The marque has forward orders stretching into 2025 and has recently opened a second state-of-the-art shipyard to facilitate increased production across its range.

Next up is the highly anticipated ILIAD 53F flybridge version, which will make its debut at the 2023 Sydney International Boat Show in early August.
